With the French Army special edition, VFC, in conjunction with Umarex, is bringing the official pistol of the French armed forces onto the market as an airsoft pistol. In addition to the actual pistol with the special grip in the coyote color, the scope of delivery also includes the original Glock pistol case and four additional grip backs. These are also original products from the manufacturer Glock. The sharp Glock 17 Gen 5 is known by the French army as PANG. A total of 74,596 of this type of pistol are to be purchased.
The particularly detailed airsoft replica is recreated in 1/1 scale by the well-known airsoft manufacturer VFC and, thanks to the original Glock markings, ensures a very true-to-original impression. The markings are deeply engraved into the metal slide by VFC, like the original, and the Glock markings cast into the grip are also neatly integrated. Since VFC has now gained a lot of experience with various gas blow-back airsoft replicas, this airsoft pistol is also equipped with a strong GBB system, which ensures an impressive shooting feeling.
The firing system on the VFC Glock 17 Gen. 5 ensures that the slide is moved back and forward again per shot, just like with a real pistol. In addition to the appropriate sound, the very crisp recoil generated further enhances the authentic overall impression. Once the magazine is empty, the slide stops at the back like a real pistol. After inserting a new or loaded magazine, the slide stop must also be pressed in order to continue shooting.
What is particularly striking about the Generation 5 in the French Army Edition is the handle. This is designed in the coyote color and comes without the finger grooves that have been common since 1998. It feels like the new grip makes the pistol easier to handle. The small square and very grippy knobs have of course remained. What is also striking about the handle area is the removable lanyard loop and the four additional handle backs included. This is an original Glock product that is actually manufactured for the live pistol. Due to the true-to-original dimensions, these can also be attached to the airsoft version, which can further improve support and comfort. When the magazine is removed from the pistol, the magazine well is made similar to a funnel. This feature is intended to make magazine changes easier or faster. The entire frame corresponds to the original in terms of external dimensions, which is why the pistol also fits in a Safariland or Blackhawk holster.
The slide catch lever, which can be operated from both sides, was also authentically reproduced in the VFC Airsoft replica, making it easier for left-handed shooters. With the sights backed by white dots, the light gap between the rear sight and the front sight has also been increased compared to Generation 4. As with the previous version, the Generation 5 also has a Picatinny rail attached under the grip to provide additional mounting options. The adjustable hop-up system is adjusted quickly and easily from the front without removing the slide.
As with the original, all shooting-relevant levers can be operated in the airsoft version. All parts are very cleanly processed and have a surface finish that is true to the original. In short - VFC quality as you are used to!
In addition to the pistol, a robust original Glock plastic case with plastic fasteners is also included. Inside, the case is equipped with studded foam inserts, which ensures safe transport of the pistol. A small gimmick is the original cleaning rod attachment, which is also included in the case. Of course, this can only be used for the sharp version
of the pistol.
