The Tokyo Marui Saiga 12 was developed asa semi-automatic shotgun based on the AK series that appeared in the former Soviet era. It is a faithful replica of the real steel Saiga 12K, with "K" standing for "Korotkaya," meaning "Short" in Russian. It was developed for the civilian market for hunting purposes, but later versions such as the Saiga-12K with a shorter barrel appeared for law enforcement agencies.
